ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2018 at Research Field, Department of Horticulture, Naini Agricultural Institute, SHUATS, Prayagraj. The experiment was conducted in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with thirteen treatments each replicated thrice. The experiment consisted of organic manures viz., Vermicompost and Farm yard manure, Panchagavya and biofertilizers viz., VAM and Rhizobium. The variety SMG-4501(Chitra) was used for sowing which is a non-branching variety. The seeds were sown at a row to row distance of 60 cm and plant to plant distance of 30 cm. In this investigation the results revealed that the treatment T12 (Vermicompost +VAM + Rhizobium + Panchagavya) was found to the best in respect of plant height (211.50 cm), days to 50% flowering (48.75), number of cluster per plant (18.00), cluster weight per plant (400.17 g), number of pods per plant (118.73), number of seeds per pods (8.53), pod length (13.00 cm), pod yield per plant (420.08 g), pod yield per plot (6.30 kg), pod yield (9.27 t ha-1), protein content (17.90 %) and crude fiber content (25.94 %). Similarly, T12 (Vermicompost +VAM+ Rhizobium + Panchagavya) recorded maximum gross return (` 370800 ha-1), net return (` 202130 ha-1) and higher cost: benefit ratio (1:2.20) than other treatment.
