ABSTRACT
The investigation was carried out on the effect of phosphorus management on periodical phosphorus content of rabi maize and soil available P2O5 under maize-green gram cropping sequence. The results of the study indicated that the application of phosphorus @ 75% P as RP+AM (T8) to rabi maize, significant (P ? 0.05) increased at 30 and 60 DAS significantly higher plant phosphorus content was recorded under T8 treatment during both the years and in pooled analysis. While at harvest the significantly higher total phosphorus content in plant was observed under (T14) in the years 2015-16, 2016-17 and in pooled analysis, respectively. The available P2O5 at 30 DAS was increased under treatment T14 (92.59, 73.93 and 82.53 %), during both the years of the study as well as in pooled analysis respectively over control (T2). While at 60 DAS during first year 43.58 and 43.28% available P2O5 was recorded increased under treatment T6 and T8 over control T2, respectively, however in second year and in pooled analysis (43.28 and 40,30 %) and (54.59 and 55.03 %) available P2O5 was recorded increased under treatments T8 and T10 respectively over control (T2). The soil available P2O5 at harvest (91.12, 109.26 and 100.10 %) and (93.02, 116.45 and 104.64%) was recorded increased under treatments T8 and T12 over control T2 during year 2015-16, 2016-17 and in pooled analysis, respectively. Application of different phosphorous fertilizer SSP, RP and SSP, RP along with AM increasing the phosphorus availability and periodically total phosphorus in maize plant but the 75%P as RP+AM (T8) treatment was superior among the different treatments.
