ABSTRACT
Under greenhouse one can grow crops under controlled environment and one can take off-season crops. The components of microclimate are solar radiation, temperature, crop spacing, root media, relative humidity etc. Hence, effect of plant spacing and root media on growth parameters and yield of capsicum was studied under naturally ventilated low cost polyhouse. For this purpose the low cost polyhouse erected by using locally available bamboo's, polythene sheet as covering material and drip irrigation system for irrigation purpose. Regarding to objective, treatments of two root media with comparative spacing were prepared. Then transplanting of capsicum seedlings was done. The respective readings for height, number of leaves, number of nodes, number of flowers and yield were recorded with respect to effect of change in spacing and root media. Recorded observation's showed that for all growth parameters and yield, average highest value were obtained from the treatments containing 50% sand + 50% soil than the beds containing 100% naturally occurring field soil.
