ABSTRACT
An experiment was conducted at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, to standardize the
season and growth regulator treatment for vegetative propagation of Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) through stem cuttings.
Significantly early sprouting (13.66days) and rooting (51.32%) were obtained in kharif season compared to autumn and
summer seasons. Similarly the cuttings treated with a combination of NAA 2000ppm + 1BA 2000 ppm recorded early
sprouting (11 days) with highest survival percentage (73.65) and maximum rooting percentage (62.95) was observed in the
cuttings treated with IBA 2000 ppm.
Key words :
Growth regulators, Stevia rebaudiana, vegetative propogation.
