ABSTRACT
The laboratory experiment was conducted to study the effect of seed coating treatments on soybean seed during storage at Seed Technology Research Unit, Dr. PDKV, Akola, in 2010-2011, 2011-12 and 2012-13. The treatments consisting polymer coating ,Flowable Thiram (Royal Flow 40SC) and Vitavax 200*(containing Thiram 37.5% and Carboxil 37.5%) at various combinations and individually. All the treated seed stored in two packaging materials i.e. Gunny bag and HDPE bag . Among all the seed coating treatments the seed treated with polymer coating @ 3ml/kg seed + flowable thiram @ 2.4 ml/kg and stored in HDPE bag shows significantly maximum seed germination, vigour index and minimum seed infection at the end of 12th month of storage. HDPE bags found significantly superior over gunny bags during storage.
