ABSTRACT
The present study comprising pre-sowing seed treatment is water soaking, Cycocyl (500 and 1000 ppm) CaCl2 (2%), KNO3 (1 and 2%), KCl (1 and 2%) and control was conducted at the Agricultural Main Research Station, Agricultural College, Dharwad during winter season 2008-09 under rainfed condition to investigate their effect on morpho-physiological parameters, the yield and yield components of wheat (variety Bijaga yellow). Pre-sowing treatment with CCC 1000 ppm recorded minimum value of plant height (71.0 cm/plant ),higher values of number of green leaves /plant(38.3) , number of tillers /plant(6.4), while higher yield (790.70 kg/ha)and yield attributing characters such as panicle length at 90 DAS (7.16 cm), number of spikelets (17.4), 1000 grain wt.(44.23 g), grains /panicle (41.1) and grain wt / panicle (1.41 g) over other treatments and control during winter season of 2008-09 among the all seed treatment CCC 1000 ppm was found superior to rest of the treatments in enhancing the grain yield and yield attributing traits.
