ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted in urdbean during kharif season of 2013 on sandy loam soil. Study revealed that 15 kg seed rate ha-1 provides highest performance viz., dry weight, number of branches, number of nodules at 30 and 45 DAS and grain weight panicle-1, while more population and tallest plant was measured under 25 kg seed rate ha-1 at 30 DAS, besides suppressed the density and their dry weight of weed than the other treatment. Moreover, 15 kg seed rate ha-1 produced significantly maximum grain yield (13.29 q ha-1). Furthermore, highest removal of N, P and K and production economics were also observed in 15 kg seed rate ha-1 over 20 and 25 kg seed rate ha-1. Likewise, in weed management practices, both chemical and mechanical method of weed control was found superior over weedy check to achieve more above values. Among the herbicidal treatment Pendimethalin @ 1.0 kg a.i ha-1 PE + one hand weeding found superior in respect to all above parameters of crop growth and weeds than their counterparts.
