ABSTRACT
Performance of parental line seeds of maize hybrid DMH-2 was studied in June 1st to to January 15th monsoon and winter season (2010-11) for vegetative growth, flowering behavior, synchronisation patter. The results indicated that weather condition, especially temperature and rainfall influenced plant growth, flowering in both the seasons. A temperature of 100 c was found critical for seedling growth and development of maize. Under sub optimum conditions prevalent in winter season. Vegetative growth, Flowering behavior (days to initiation, 50% and completion of flowering synchronisation pattern ) was highly influenced by seasons. The results revealed the fesibility of synchrony of DMH-2 hybrid in kharif season with adoption of flowering manipulation in Dharwad condition.
