ABSTRACT
The two different soils such as sandy soil in College of Agricultural Engineering, Bapatla (A.P) and black soil at farmer field was evaluated to study the effect of vertical plough on soil physical properties such as moisture content, bulk density and soil pulverization. The results of the field experiments showed moisture content of the black soil before and after ploughing was found as 15.6 % and 10.11% and in case of similarly in case of sandy soil it was found as 10 % and 7.85%.The bulk density was around 0.265 g/cm3 and 0.129 g/cm3 for black soil before and after ploughing, correspondingly in case of sandy soil it was 0.146 g/cm3 and 0.129 g/cm3. The soil pulverization was found to be 8.99 mm and 310 micron in black and sandy soils. The fuel consumption of rotary plough in black and sandy soil was 5.14 l/h and 5 l/h. The overall interpretation was made that the moisture content, bulk density and soil pulverization had a significant effect during ploughing conditions.
Key words :
Bulk density, Fuel consumption, Soil moisture content, Soil pulverization, Vertical rotary plough.
