ABSTRACT
Importance of processing the turmeric seed rhizomes for achieving the good quality and more yield is well-known since ancient time from early farming techniques. Survey of various techniques clearly indicate the improvement in the method and storage environment. The effect of seed size on development of plant growth processes is very important for irradiated yield in the plant species producing different sizes of seeds. An optimum seed root size of a specific root crop may develop healthy seedling and vegetative parts, which subsequently receive higher solar energy and maximize yield. In this research work, it has been investigated the results, using microwave radiation to water, turmeric seed rhizomes and to the soil with different irradiation times. Careful selection of microwave power and exposure time can improve processes in plant growth quality of turmeric and increased turmeric yield. The microwave treated water, and soil used for planting turmeric rhizomes seed plants, the plant growth investigated maximum for 60 sec. radiation time and with 900w microwave power. These results along with earlier improvements will be definitely beneficial to needy farmers in the process of turmeric harvesting.
