ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted during the summer seasons of the year 2013 and 2014 at Pulse Research Station, Anand Agricultural University, Model Farm, Vadodara, Gujarat in sandy loam soil. It evaluate the effect of sowing dates (15th Feb, 1st March and 15th March) and spacings (30 x 10cm, 30 x 15cm, 45 x 10cm and 45 x 15cm) on growth and yield of green gram. The results revealed that higher number of pods/plant as well as maximum seed and haulm yield were recorded in the crop sown on 1st March. Pod length, number of seeds/pod and test weight were not altered due to different dates of sowing. In general narrow spacing (30 x 10cm) produced taller plants whereas wider spacing of 45 x 15cm produced higher number of branches/plant and pods/plant. Pod length, number of seeds/pod and test weight record unaffected due to different spacings. Similarly the seed and haulm yield.
