ABSTRACT
Root rot of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) incited by Macrophomina phaseolina (T.) G. was observed in a severe form at Agronomy farm, College of Agriculture, Dapoli, during 2007-2008. In vitro evaluation of various fungicides indicated that carbendazim (0.1%), propiconazole (0.1%), mancozeb (0.25%) and captan (0.1%) were very effecting in inhibiting the growth of Macrophomina phaseolina causing root rot of cowpea.
Key words :
Cowpea, fungicides, Macrophomina phaseolina, poisoned food technique, Vigna unguiculata.
