ABSTRACT
The study was conducted to compare the efficacy of seed bio-priming with PGPR's and biocontrol agents on enhancing seedling vigour of gherkin in healthy and infested substrate under green house condition. The plant growth parameters were estimated on 30 DAS. The treatment T9 (Bioprimed with (Az.b + B.m +P.f + T.h)) recorded highest germination percentage of 99.81 and 83.61, root length (24.65 and 22.31 cm/pl), shoot length (33.13 30.41 cm/pl) total biomass 19.25 and 2.09 g/pl and vigour index 1921.34 and 1547.64 in healthy and infested substrate respectively compared to controls T1 (unprimed seeds) and T2 (hydroprimed seeds). The same treatment found better in the second experiment also, showing highest in mean number of leaves and intermodal length. It was observed that number of days for tendril initiation and 50 per cent flowering was lesser in T9 compared to control.
