ABSTRACT
The field experiments were carried out to study the effect of plant extracts as bioherbicide on weed management in soybean ecosystem. The aqueous extracts of Tectonagrandis, Ocimum sanctum, Ageratum conyzoides, Blumealacera, Cucumissativus,Bambusa vulgaris, showed inhibitory effects on weed growth and enhanced the yield of soybean. Weed biomass, weed control efficiency as well as the pods plant-1, 100-seed weight, pod yield were significantly affected in response to weed control treatments. Treatment receiving twice hand weeding recorded highest WCE (81.24 %) and seed yield (2.38 t ha-1). Ageratum conyzoides increased the dry weight, pod yield and yield of soybean with 73.45 % WEC. But the bioherbicide treatments at recommend rate were also effective in reduction on dry weight of weeds as compared to weedy check plots.
