ABSTRACT
Bacillus subtilis is a gram positive, rod-shaped spore forming saprophytic bacteria capable of controlling soil borne plant pathogens and other damping off and wilt pathogens exhibited entomopathogenic potentiality as stomach poison against bihar hairy caterpillar of jute, Spilosoma oblique. The crude metabolite of B. subtilis strain recorded 93.33% mortality of S. obliqua. The secondary metabolite isolated from B. subtilis revealed fluorescent and phenolic compounds.
