ABSTRACT
During kharif 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17, fourty three germplasm lines of mesta were screened against foot and stem rot (Phytophthora parasitica var. sabdariffa) at Agricultural Research Station, Amadalavalasa under natural epiphytotic conditions for three consecutive years as a rainfed crop. Out of 43 germplasm accessions, seven lines i.e., AS-80-9, AS-80-12, AS-80-19, AS-81-12, REX-6, R-77 and R-88 were found moderately susceptible (MS) with a disease incidence range of 13.1% - 25.9%. Rest of all showed highly susceptible reaction (HS). The disease incidence was highest at 120 days age of crop stage and before harvest of the crop. Highest disease incidence was noticed in AMV-5, 51.2% (check variety).
Key words :
