ABSTRACT
Market integration is the measuring of effectiveness marketing system, whereby the fundamental infrastructure is finest put to use connected with effective resource allocation The present study examines the performance of most important groundnut domestic trade centre of Gujarat viz. Jamnagar, Rajkot and Junagadh market in terms of market integration by using Engle-Granger bivariate co-integration test and Johansen multivariate co-integration test. The present study was based on secondary data. The wholesale price data of groundnut in selected market for the period January 2003 to June 2019. all the series of Selected market were stationary which is obvious from the fact that calculated values (-3.0348 to -3.8004) for all the markets were less than the critical value and were free from the consequence of unit root. The findings revealed the existence of long-run as well as short run equilibrium between the markets. Besides, causality test indicated the existence of unidirectional relationship between Jamnagar and Rajkot market, Jamnagar and Junagarh market Overall, the results signified effective price transmission mechanism in the domestic markets and any further improve to the accessible transportation will only assist in improving both producer's and consumer's surpluses. Public policies in State could play decisive roles in facilitating market integration and thereby, market competence through the expansion of agricultural market information systems and road infrastructure.
