ABSTRACT
This paper describes the special features of family farms in the arid zone of Rajasthan, India and the findings of the technological support being provided to these farmers by an interdisciplinary team to help them sustain their family farms. The approach used was participatory appraisal of resources at the farm and the suitable interventions needed to enable the farmers' augment the production through the application of selected technologies.
