ABSTRACT
Genetic divergence analysis was carried out for twenty genotypes of tomato using Mahalonabis D2 statistics. Based on eighteen characters used for the study, these genotypes were grouped into six clusters. Maximum intercluster distance was observed between the clusters IV and VI followed by V and VI. Fruit yield and fruit weight was maximum for the cluster II. Maximum flowers/cluster, fruits/cluster, number of fruits/plant, TSS, ascorbic acid and shelf-life was maximum for cluster IV (Azad T-5). Genotypes of cluster II (Kashi Amrit, Fla 7171, Hisar Lalima, Sel-7, Floradade, NDTVR-60) and cluster IV (Azad T-5) can be used for the development of hybrid/variety having higher yield and better quality.
