NEMICHAND SHARMA, A.S. SHEKHAWAT, SURESH MALAV and C.P. MEENA. 2015. Genetic variability and stress susceptibility index under limited moisture condition in fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum L.). Green Farming Vol. 6 (1) : 37-40  ;  January-February, 2015

ABSTRACT
Fifty elite genotypes of fenugreek were evaluated for grain yield and related morphological characters under moisture stress condition. Analysis of variance indicated that genotypes significantly differed for all the 10 characters, which indicating that sufficient variability in the experimental material. The character pods per plant, seed yield per plant, and biological yield per plant showed high GCV and PCV. High estimate of heritability was observed for pods per plant, seed yield per plant, branches per plant, biological yield per plant, seeds per pod, plant height and harvest index. The genetic advance as percentage of mean was high for pods per plant, seed yield per plant and biological yield per plant. High estimate of GCV, PCV, heritability and genetic advance as percentage of mean was observed for pods per plant, seed yield per plant and biological yield per plant, therefore, selection will be effective for these characters. On the basis of stress susceptibility index values, the genotypes UM-197, Rmt-303, Rmt-1, UM-174 and UM-177 was higher yielder in limited moisture condition.
Key words :
