ABSTRACT
Sixty four rice accessions were evaluated at Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru College of Agriculture & Research Institute, Karaikal, Puducerry during kharif 2016 in Lattice square design with three replications to assess the genetic parameters for yield, yield attributing and quality characters. Analysis of variance revealed significant differences for all the traits under study. In general Phenotypic coefficients of variations(PCV) estimates were higher than Genotypic coefficients of variation (GCV) estimates for all the twenty four characters studied. The characters viz., panicle weight, gelatinization temperature and number of grains per panicle, along with high heritability coupled with high genetic advance indicating their amenability towards simple selection and effective for improving these characters.
Key words :
GCV, Genetic advance, Heritability, Panicle weight, PCV, Rice, Yield & quality attributes.
