ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT . The present investigation was carried out on seven local genotypes of guava viz., GLG1, GLG2, SLG, BLG, BoLG, HLG and LSG under net house condition, at Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Latur during 2009-2011. The experiment was laid out in Completely Randomized Design with seven treatments (guava genotypes) replicated thrice. The LSG (Sardar) genotype taken as control. The experiment framed was intended to assess the wedge graft performance of 'Sardar' guava on different local guava genotypes as a rootstock. The results were obtained for number of days for sprouting, growth of grafts stionic ratio and survival percentage of grafts characters. The wedge grafts produced on the rootstock seedlings of SLG genotype required minimum (10.87) number of days for sprouting of grafts and showed maximum growth attributes like length of sprout (33.04cm), stem diameter (0.64cm), number of leaves/graft (19.03), leaf area (69.30cm2), stionic ratio (1.05) and survival percentage (83.33).
Key words :
Guava, Psidium guajava, stionic ratio, survival percentage, wedge grafting.
