ABSTRACT
One hundred and twenty unsexed four week- old Anak 2000 strain of broiler chickens were randomly assigned into 4 dietary treatments ( 3 replicates of 10 birds per treatment ) in a completely randomized design. Four iso- nitrogenous and metabolizable energy levels ranging from 2800 to 2900Kcal/kg diet were formulated and fed for a period of 4 week, at the finisher phase. Honey was used at the levels 0% ( Control ), 1%, 2% and 3% in the diet. The inclusion of honey significantly ( P<0.05 ) enhanced weight gain of birds at 1% level of honey. Honey inclusion did not significantly ( P>0.05 ) enhance feed intake and feed conversion. The economic implication of adding honey to broiler diet showed that as the level of honey increased, the cost of feed consumed per kilogram weight gain also increased. The least feed cost per kg weight gain was observed at 1% honey level.
