ABSTRACT
The present investigation was carried out with twenty five genotypes of fenugreek with diverse geographical origins to find out the promising genotypes suitable for Bengaluru during kharif 2009 in Randomized Block Design with two replications. The mean data was subjected to statistical analysis. All the genotypes varied significantly with respect to growth and yield parameters. The genotype CO-1 recorded maximum plant height, number of branches and plant spread at harvest. RMt-1 took more number of days to 50 per cent flowering and found to be of long duration. UM-34 and CO-2 took least number of days for 50 per cent flowering and matured matured early, whereas, Chikkabalapur Local was found to be of medium duration. It also recorded more number of pods per plant, maximum pod length, pod weight, shelling percentage, thousand seed weight and seed yield per plant, whereas, UM-127 recorded more number of seeds per pod, UM-302 recorded maximum plant dry weight and UM-34 highest harvest index compared to other genotypes.
