ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted at Agronomy Farm, College of Agriculture, Bikaner during kharif season, 2015. The experiment was laid out in factorial Randomized block design with three replications consisting of four levels of NPKS fertilizers (control, 50, 75 and 100% recommended dose of NPKS fertilizer), two levels of FYM (control & 10 t ha-1) and two levels of biofertilizer (control & PSB inoculation) in plots. Results indicated that application of 100% recommended dose of NPKS (i.e. 20:32:30:30 kg NPKS ha-1) significantly higher number of pods per pant, number of seeds per pod, test weight, seed and straw yield; nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur and calcium content and uptake in seed and straw; net returns and B:C ratio as compared to control and 50% recommended dose of NPKS fertilizer and remained at par with 75% recommended dose of NPKS. Whereas, raising the level of FYM from 0 to 10 t ha-1 and Seed treatment with PSB inoculation resulted significantly increased yield and yield attributes and B:C ratio. Seed treatment with PSB inoculation significantly increased available phosphorus and seed and straw yield, phosphorus, potassium content in seed and straw, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur, calcium and magnesium uptake by seed and straw, net returns and B:C ratio over control, with PSB inoculation, respectively. Combined application of fertilizer (NPKS) @ 100% RDF, FYM @ 10 t ha-1 levels resulted in highest nitrogen content in seed and sulphur content in straw.
