ABSTRACT
India is a traditional silk producing country and occupy second position in the world . However, production
of quality silk still a limiting factor. Mountages used in India one of the most important factor which lowers down the
production of quality cocoons in turn inferior quality silk. The present study was under taken to determine the impact of
two most popular mountages in India i.e. Bamboo mountages and Plastic collapsible mountages vs two newly introduced
rotary mountages Present communication clearly indicates the use of rotary mountages enhance not only quantity but
appreciably enhance the production of quality cocoons and quality silk.
