ABSTRACT
An investigation was carried out on seed germination and subsequent seedling growth of aonla (Emblica officinalis Gaertn.) at Department of Horticulture, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani (M.S.) India during the year 2007-2008. Among the various seed soaking treatments given to khirni seeds, GA3 200 ppm seed soaking treatment for 24 hours was the best for increasing seed germination percentage and subsequent growth of aonla seedlings, while the ethrel 3000 ppm seed soaking treatment produced toxic effects on seed germination and all growth parameters of aonla seedings.
Key words :
Aonla, Emblica officinalis, ethrel, GA3, seed soaking, seed germination, seedling growth.
