ABSTRACT
A field study was carried out during kharif season of 2013-14 at farmer field, Dawndih village, Bilaspur district, (Chhattisgarh), to study the integrated effect of inorganic and organic fertilizers with different doses of fly ash (20, 40 and 60 t ha-1) on rice productivity and paddy grown on vertisol. The results showed that fly ash integrated with inorganic fertilizers and FYM imprinted significant positive effect on yield and yield attributes of rice crop and bacterial population ,dehydorgenase enzyme and microbial biomass carbon of the soil. Fly ash applied at different doses with 75% GRD + 5 t ha-1 FYM produced significantly higher yield (57.17 q ha-1) and bacterial population, dehydorgenase activity and microbial biomass carbon as compare to all other treatments. It increased yield by 50% as compare to the GRD. Application of 20 t ha-1fly ash combinations with and without FYM showed higher microbial activity at tillring and harvesting stage of the crop, whereas increasing doses of fly ash decrease the productivity of rice and bacterial population , dehydrogenase activity and microbial biomass carbon of soil. The beneficial role of fly ash was more apparent when it was used in combination with FYM than without FYM addition.
