ABSTRACT
A field study was carried out during kharif season of 2014-15 at farmer field, Ajirma village, Surajpur district, (Chhattisgarh), to study the integrated effect of inorganic and organic fertilizers with different doses of fly ash (20, 40 and 60 t ha-1) on soil properties and paddy grown on acid soil. The results showed that fly ash integrated with inorganic fertilizers and FYM imprinted significant positive effect on yield of rice crop and nutrient availability in soil. The application of different doses of fly ash with 75% GRD + 5 t FYM ha-1 produced significantly higher yield as compared to all other treatments. The significance increase in available macro- and micronutrient status in soil due to application of fly ash and FYM was observed. Application of increasing doses of fly ash with and without FYM was found to increase water holding capacity and the highest recorded under application of 75% GRD + 60 t ha-1 fly ash + 5 t FYM ha-1 and tended to marginal decrease bulk density and particle density of soil. Increased doses of fly ash combined with and without FYM increased yield and nutrient content of the soil. The effect of fly ash was more pronounced when was integrated with FYM then without FYM. Use of fly ash in such problematic soil as an amended not only and acted as source of plant nutrition but also increased crop productivity.
