ABSTRACT
Hasta bahar flowering in an acid lime is observed in September-October months. This bahar can not be initiated easily. The water stress with hormones plays an important role in regulation of flowering. Therefore considering the economic importance of hasta bahar fruits, the present investigation was undertaken in the private orchard of acid lime Babhulgaon, District Akola (M.S), India during the year 2004-05 and studied quality and yield of hasta bahar flowering in acid lime with various treatments viz., T1 -GA-50ppm, T2 - cycocel 100 ppm, T3 - KNO3 1%, T4 - Thiourea 1%, T5 - Salicylic acid 100 ppm, T6 - Ascorbic acid 50 ppm and T7 - control (no spray). Two trees were taken as one treatment unit and replicated four times. The treatments were applied before two months of induction of flowering at an interval of one month that is in August and September. Observations on quality and yield of hasta bahar flowering were recorded in the month of April and May. The results obtained from the present findings revealed that the yield in terms of number of fruits/tree and weight of fruits/tree were found maximum in T2 treatment i.e two sprays cycocel 1000 ppm at an interval of one month before initiation of flowering. The fruit quality in respect to juice percentage, TSS, acidity percentage, ascorbic acid content, peel and pomace percentage also improved with the application of cycocel 1000 ppm.
