ABSTRACT
Strong pruning significantly increased size, fruit weight and volume of apple fruits. Maximum fruit length (7.34 and 7.35 cm), fruit breadth (7.82 and 7.92 cm), fruit weight (196.71 and 206.02g) and fruit volume (208.57 and 305.06 cm3) was noticed in medium to strong pruning intensity in both the years of study. A direct relationship between nitrogen levels and size, weight and volume of fruit were observed during both the years of study. The highest fruit length (6.96 and 7.05 cm), breadth (7.28 and 7.23 cm), weight (172.06 and 176.00 g) and volume (215.29 and 230.33 cm3) were recorded with higher levels of nitrogen and fruit breadth (7.00 and 6.77 cm) and volume (216.18 and 220.10 cm3) were recorded with higher levels of potassium in 2004 and 2005, respectively. Fruits of 171.71g and 173.78 g were recorded in K2 and K3 potassium application in 2004 and 2005, respectively.
