ABSTRACT
An experiment was carried out to study the effect of rootstocks on yield and quality of table varieties of grapes. Experiment consisted of three varieties viz., Thompson Seedless (V1), Flame Seedless (V2) and Kishmish Chorni (V3) grafted to three rootstocks viz., 1103 P (R1), SO 4 (R2), Dog Ridge (R3) and varieties raised on their own roots (R0) as control in Factorial Randomized Block Design replicated four times. Own rooted varieties performed well compared to grafted varieties with respect to number of fruitful canes vine-1 (23.86) and bunches vine-1 (34.94) subsequently resulting in higher yield (11.40 kg vine-1). The variety Kishmish Chorni recorded more number of fruitful canes vine-1 (20.23), bunches vine-1 (29.61) and high yields (10.49 kg vine-1). High TSS and low acidity was recorded with rootstocks 1103 P (21.31 ºB, 0.39 % respectively) and Dog Ridge (20.50 ºB, 0.52 % respectively). Brix-acid ratio was high with 1103 P (64.80). Varieties Flame Seedless (21.16 ºB) and Kishmish Chorni (20.47 ºB) recorded high TSS.
