ABSTRACT
Early seed germination and seedling vigor of common centro was greatly influenced by seven seed priming techniques and five soil types. Although each treatment combination responded in their own ways on days to emergence, % germination and mortality, germinative capacity and energy, germination speed, daily mean germination, mean germination time and period, energy period, and phenotypic traits (number of leaves, seedling diameter, plumule length, radicle length and seedling vigor), the most efficient and effective treatments was observed in subjecting the seeds through acid scarification and hydropriming (either in 24 or 36 hours) sown in sandy loam soil.
Key words :
Common centro, Germination, Scarification, Seed priming, Seedling vigor, Soil types.
