ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted on sandy clay loam soil of Agronomy Farm, College of Agriculture, DBSKKV, Dapoli, Dist. Ratnagiri during rabi seasons of 2015-16 and 2016-17 to study the influence of tillage practices and nutrient sources on yield, quality of sweet corn and post-harvest soil fertility. The experiment was laid out in Split plot design with three replications assigning four tillage practices to main plots and five nutrient sources to sub-plots. The results of study indicated that soil manipulation with of one mouldboard ploughing + one pass of cultivator + one pass of rotavator (T4) recorded significantly higher yield and protein content in grain and fodder of sweet corn, while soil manipulation with one pass of rotavator recorded significantly higher total soluble solids and available N, P2O5 and K2O in soil. Conjunctive use of 75% RDN through chemical fertilizer + 25% RDN through vermicompost recorded significantly higher yield, total soluble solids, protein content in grain and fodder and available N, P2O5 and K2O in soli after harvest of sweet corn.
