ABSTRACT
Field experiments were conducted during rabi seasons of 2010 and 2011 at Research farm of Department of soil science and Agricultural Chemistry, VN Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani to study the effect of bioinoculants and levels of chemical fertilizers on yield ,nutrient uptake and quality of safflower. The experimental soil was clayey with pH 8.30. It was moderately fertile, being low in organic carbon, available nitrogen, medium in phosphorus with high content of potassium. The experiments were laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design with four replications. Results emerged out from the study indicated that grain , straw yield ,nutrient uptake (NPKS) and quality of safflower was significantly improved with combined application of 100%NPK with dual inoculation of biofertilizers (Azotobacter + PSB) as compared to single inoculation of bioinoculant either of Azotobacter or PSB as well as fertilizers alone .
Key words :
Bio-inoculants, Nutrient uptake, Safflower, Yield & quality attributes.
