ABSTRACT
The study was conducted during 2004-05 in Kundagol and Dharwad taluks of Dharwad district of Karnataka. The results of the study revealed that majority of the chilli and jowar crop growers belonged to old and middle age categories, chilli crop growers are having higher education, large and medium land holding, joint type of family, more income, more economic motivation, high farming experience and medium level of extension participation as compared to jowar crop growers. Majority of the chilli and jowar crop growers preferred progressive farmers as most credible interpersonal communication source followed by friends and agricultural assistant was considered as some what credible interpersonal communication source followed by extension guide.
