ABSTRACT
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Pratapgarh conducted 90 front line demonstrations on fenugreek in 23.0 ha. area under real farming situations from 2012-13 to 2015-16 at farmer's fields of five adopted villages Navgoava, Chupna, Feradi, Fetehgarh, & Movai Tehsil Arnod of Pratapgarh (Raj). All the 5 villages where FLDs were conducted by KVK included in the study. The total sample size was 180 consisting of 90 beneficiary and 90 non-beneficiary farmer's. Front Line Demonstration is the new concept of field demonstration evolved by the ICAR with the inception of the “Technology Mission on Pulses & Oilseed” in 1986. Fenugreek (methi, Trigonella foenum-graecum L) is cultivated in India and mainly grown in Rajasthan. The field demonstrations were conducted under the close supervision of the scientists of the National Agricultural Research System is called Front Line Demonstration. The results showed that majority of beneficiary farmers were having high level of knowledge regarding high yielding varieties with 89.17 MPS and least knowledge about plant protection measures with 54.07 MPS. Similarly the non–beneficiary farmers possessed high level of knowledge regarding time of sowing with 75.55MPS.There was significant difference in knowledge level of fenugreek production technology between beneficiary and non- beneficiary farmers.
