ABSTRACT
The work was a part of larger livelihood promotion programme and was implemented in 24 villages across eight blocks in the four districts (Parbhani, Latur, Osmanabad and Beed) with the help of trained in-house team of 14 persons and 24 trained village representative. The purpose of project was to develop human resource potential among grazing land occupants and enhance their capacities for sustainable farming activities in the areas of agro-biodiversity conservation, organic agriculture, animal husbandry, appropriate technologies related to farming systems, soil and water conservation. At the end of program 905 landless families were educated and motivated on SAP technique. Total grazing land occupied were 1983 of which 1510 acres of grazing land converted into cultivable land. Out of 905 occupants 612 families have been cultivated 912 acres of land with SAP techniques. Total 1112 quintal of grain were (sorghum, hybrid jowar (sorghum), bajra (P. typhoids), tur (pulse), soybean, greengram, cotton and yellow jowar) produced in four districts.
