ABSTRACT
Based on the microarray results under drought stress and EST information, the full-length cDNAs was isolated from a drought tolerant tomato cultivar S. penneli. The SpBor1 gene encoded 159 amino acids, Tissue expression pro?le analysis using semi-quantitative RT-PCR showed that SpBor1 was expressed mainly in leafs, ?ower and fruit, also showed different expression pattern under different hormone/ stress. Phylogenetic analysis for putative of SpBor1 peptides available in the tomato genome indicated a limited existence in other crops. Results obtained in the present study suggest that SpBor1 might play important roles in tomato stress tolerance.
