ABSTRACT
The present work is an attempt to carry out a detailed study of linear and shape morphometric parameters in kanore micro-watersheds of Udaipur district Rajasthan covering an area of 5388 ha. Topographic maps of Survey of India on 1:50000 scale were utilized to delineate the drainage system, thus to identify precisely water divides using Geographic Information System (GIS). It has been found that in Kanore micro-watershed 124 streams are belonging to different stream orders with the highest order of 4 are existing. The study has shown that the Kanore micro-watershed is in conformity with the Horton's law of stream numbers and stream lengths. The low value of bifurcation ratio (4.69) revealed that the drainage pattern has not been distorted by structural disturbance. High value of elongation ratio (0.41) compare to circulatory ratio (0.26) indicates elongated shape of the watershed.
Low value of drainage density (1.45 km/Sq km) shows that the region is having permeable subsoil material under vegetative cover and watershed relief is low. Relief ratio (0.015) and relative relief (0.27%) reflects that the watershed be treated with soil and water conservation measures.
