ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted during summer-2014 at Zonal Agricultural Research Station, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru, for studies on weed management approaches for tickle irrigated aerobic rice on red sandy loam soil. The experiment consisted of ten treatments laid in Randomized complete block design with three replications comprising of weed free check, weedy check, hand weeding, hand hoeing and their combinations, pre- and post-emergent application of herbicides through manual and trickle irrigation. Nutrient uptake (N, P2O5 and K2O) by crop washigher in herbigation of pre-emergent pretilachlor + bensulfuran methyl and post-emergent bispyribac sodium at 20 DAS (98.85, 24.20 and 84.89 kg ha-1,respectively) after weed free check (100.38, 24.70 and 85.87 kg ha-1, respectively) it was on par with hand hoeing at 15, 30 and 45 DAS (92.06, 22.69 and 81.96 kg ha-1, respectively) whereas uptake was lower in weedy check (36.80, 8.63 and 29.76 kg ha-1, respectively). The nutrient uptake by weeds was in reverse trend.
