ABSTRACT
Efforts were made to standardize the length of cutting and, kind and concentration of growth regulators for vegetative propagation of noni. Nodal cuttings of different sizes were treated with growth regulators and planted in sand. Of the treatments studied, triple node cuttings were found to be superior for all the rooting characters viz., days to sprouting (18.64days), length of longest sprout (3.62 cm), number of leaves (4.70), number of roots (2.87 per rooted cutting), root length (4.88 cm), fresh weight (0.805 g), dry weight (0.389 g) and survival rate (46.33%). Amongst growth regulators, indole butyric acid (IBA) 3000 ppm was observed togive better rooting (96.67%), longer roots (7.80 cm), highest fresh weight (1.667g) and dry weight (0.800g) of root per cutting and highest survival percentage (72.22). The triple nodal cuttings treated with IBA 3000 ppm found superior with better rooting & survival rate (76.67%). Thus noni can be better propagated by using triple nodal cuttings combined with IBA 3000 ppm treatment.
