ABSTRACT
The performance of vermicompost, farmyard manure and chemical fertilizers on the growth and yield of bhendi informs that the vermicompost application at optimum level, 750g per plot is superior when compared to other farm manure and chemical fertilizers The vermicompost application enhanced biomass and yield significantly. As bhendi is a vegetable with food and medicinal value it can be grown organically using vermicompost. The results showed that maximum number of flower 6.30 per plant in vermicompost 750g treatment. The results also showed a maximum number of fruits, 8.50 per plant in vermicompost 750g applied plot. The fruit length (cm) per plant increased significantly in different organic treatment. A maximum fruit length of 11.28 cm per plant was seen in vermicompost 750g applied plot followed by farm yard manure 750g treatment (10.80 cm).
