ABSTRACT
The performance evaluation of animal operated FYM applicator has been evaluated at the Dept. of FMPE, CAE, Raichur campus. The manure applicator used for FYM spreading, considering the three volumes of manure box (V1,V2 and V3) and three openings of sliding plate (½, ¾ and full). The maximum application rate, swath and coefficient of uniformity was found 53.9 tons/ha, 0.85 m and 93.1% respectively. The lowest application rate, swath and coefficient of uniformity was found 24.41 tons/ha,0.80 m and 87.75 % respectively. The capacity of animal operated FYM applicator was found to be maximum (14292 kg h-1) and lowest (5491kg h-1 respectively. The field capacityof applicator observed at maximum (0.27 ha h-1) and lowest (0.20 ha h-1). Percentage of financial saving and labour saving of using animal operated FYM spreader over traditional method is at 5.2 % , 94.2% respectively. This paper describes the performance evaluation of the animal operated FYM applicator.
