ABSTRACT
Present investigation was undertaken at Post Graduate Centre, University of Horticultural Sciences Campus, GKVK, Bengaluru, during rabi season of 2012-2013 to evaluate twenty-five coriander genotypes for different growth and yield parameters. The genotype DCC 74was found to have the maximum plant height and fresh and dry weight of plant, while, DCC 88 and DCC 25 recorded higher number of primary and secondary branches per plant, respectively. The maximum number of umbels per plant was recorded in DCC 38, while, the genotype DCC 89 recorded the maximum harvest index, seed yield per plant and seed yield per hectare. The overall values of PCV were higher than those of GCV. The highest phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variations was observed for plant spread, fresh and dry weight of plant, seed yield per plant and seed yield per hectare. Higher heritability coupled with high genetic advance as per cent of mean was also observed for plant spread, seed yield per plant and seed yield per hectare indicating importance of additive gene effects for these traits. Therefore, great emphasis should be given for aforesaid characters while selecting for growth and yield related traits.
Key words :
Coriander genotypes, Genotypic & phenotypic coefficient, Growth & yield parameters.
