ABSTRACT
Biogas is primarily composed of methane and carbon dioxide. The 65% methane content makes it a promising source of alternative fuel. Biogas converts waste and harmful bacteria into potential fuel sources and raw material for other use. The beauty of biogas is in fact that it is a natural process and works on basically any organic wastes. A 5HP Kirloskar make IC engine was modified to run on 100% biogas as fuel. Biogas has been found to be a suitable fuel for IC engines. The studies conducted to evaluate the engine performance and study the effect of power developed by the engine on 11.2:1 and 12.4:1 compression ratios.
Key words :
Biogas fuel, IC engine.
