ABSTRACT
field experiment to know the effect of different levels of nutrients on physical and quality parameters of pineapple cv. Kew was conducted at College of Horticulture, Sirsi, UHS, Bagalkot, Karnataka during 2017-2019. The region falls under Zone 9 of Karnataka which is situated in the heart of Western Ghats of India. The experiment was carried out in Split plot design with three replications. The main treatments comprising T1: Control(Untreated), T2: Azotobacter, T3: PSB, T4: AM fungi and Sub treatments - S1: 80% RDN + 20% RDN through Vermicompost, S2:80% RDN + 20% RDN through FYM, S3:100% RDN + ZnSO4 (10 kg/ha) + Boron (5 kg/ha), S4: RDN (350:130:440 NPK kg/ha) , S5: S1 + ZnSO4 (10kg/ha) + Boron (5 kg/ha), S6: S2 + ZnSO4 (10kg/ha) + Boron (5 kg/ha). The result revealed that all the physical parameters and quality parameters are significantly affected by different levels of organic, inorganic nutrients and bio-fertilizer treatment combinations. Maximum fruit length (19.06 cm), fruit circumference (40.33 cm), crown length (36.44 cm), crown circumference (64.08 cm), vitamin C (25.67 mg/100g), total sugars (19.23%), reducing sugars (14.13%) and lowest titratable acidity (0.72%) were observed in the treatment combination T2S5 [Azotobacter (5 kg/ha) + 80% RDN+20% RDN through vermicompost +ZnSO4 (10 kg/ha) + Boron (5 kg/ha)]. Whereas, T3S5 [PSB (5 kg/ha) + 80% RDN + 20% RDN through vermicompost + ZnSO4 (10 kg/ha) + boron (5 kg/ha)] recorded higher TSS (16.12 ?B) and lowest acidity (0.72 %).
