ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted from kharif 2010 to kharif 2011 on different sites of research farm of AICRP for dry land agriculture, Sardarkrushinagar (North Gujarat) under arid and semi-arid agro-climatic zone. The different treatments viz., nitrogen management N1 : Control, N2: 20 kg N + Rhizobium, N3: 40 kg N + Rhizobium and Spacing, S1 : Broadcasting, S2 : 45 x 20 cm, S3 : 60 x 20 cm, S4 : 75 x 20 cm were tried out in senna as ratoon crop. The results showed that application of nitrogen management of 40 kg N ha-1 + Rhizobium and spacing of 60 x 20 cm produced higher dry leaves, seed and net return of senna crop grown on light textured soils under rainfed condition. The significantly highest available nitrogen of 144, 147 and 146 kg/ha in soil was noted with application of 40 kg N ha-1 + Rhizobium during 2010, 2011 and in pooled results, respectively than rest of nitrogen management treatments. There was non-significant effect of spacing on soil available nitrogen.
