ABSTRACT
Total fifteen individual flavonoids were identified and quantified from the methanolic extracts of fruit pulp of Annona spp. by HPLC analysis. Chromatographic separation was performed on a C18 column (2.1 × 50 mm, 1.7 µm) with mobile phase consisting of 0.1% formic acid and 100% methanol at a flow rate of 0.3 mL/min. The analysis was performed using a triple quadrupole mass spectrophotometer (TQD-MS). The results indicated that flavonoids viz., catechin, epicatechin, myricetin, quercetin and luteolin were majorly found in annona fruits while epigallocatechin, rutin, naringenin, hesperidin, umbelliferone and kaempferol were insignificant. Therefore, annona fruits can be a potential candidate for further work to discover antioxidant and cytotoxic drugs from natural sources.
