ABSTRACT
In the present study Trichoderma harzianum was found to enhance seed germination and reduce seed mycoflora percentage in most of the species. Psoralea corylifolia (83.33) Withania somnifera (66.00), Abrus precatorius (66.67) and Abelmoschus moschatus (71.67) had higher percentage of seed germination. Seeds of these medicinal plants species treated with Trichoderma harzianum Rifai were free from seed-borne mycoflora. In vivo, per cent seed germination recorded from treated and untreated seeds indicate that treatment with Trichoderma harzianum had significant positive effect on enhancing seed germination. There was 30.00 and 8.67 per cent difference between treated and untreated seeds of Withania somnifera and Psoralea corylifolia respectively. Six seed mycoflora i.e. Fusarium, Alternaria, Curvularia, Monilinia, Phoma and Aspergillus spp were predominantly associated with seeds. Seeds of Medicinal plant species i.e. Ablmoschus moschatus, Andrographis paniculata, and Abrus precatorius had higher per cent seed mycoflora.
